The Israeli National Welding Committee
The Israeli National Welding Committee is a voluntary body of people involved in the field of welding. Its members come from industry and the academic world. The Committee is part of the Association of Engineers and Architects in Israel, based in the "Engineer's House" in Tel Aviv.

The Committee's work has been recognized internationally, and for more than five years it has been an International Section of the AWS - American Welding Society, the world's leading organization in the welding field. The AWS was established in 1914 and has about 50,000 members, worldwide.

The aims of the Israeli National Welding Committee are:
A. To promote knowledge in the field of welding and to raise the level of quality and the safety of the welding done in Israel, by means of –
- holding National and International welding conferences

- carrying out technical seminars for welders and trades people

- conducting courses and examinations for qualifying and certifying welding inspectors

- assisting the Israeli Standards Institute in preparing standards for all mattersrelated to the field of welding

B. To maintain contacts with government entities whose concern interacts with the field of welding (Ministry of Labor, Prime Minister's Office, Laboratory Certification Authority)

C. To maintain contacts and the exchange of information with similar organizations abroad (AWS, IIW).

D. To operate a system of recognition for bodies which qualify welders in Israel

As of November 2008 the Israeli National Welding Committee (INWC) has issued:
- certificates to 97 Certified Welding Inspectors (ICWI)
- recognition to 8 “Bodies” in Israel which test and qualify welders
